Why did you choose this theme? 

I recently moved from New England to the Deep South to work at the Institute of Southern Jewish Life. The podcast episodes that fit my theme helped me to connect to my new home when travel and immersive experiences were impossible because of COVID. Plus, they've helped me complicate the narratives I use to describe Southern culture, Jewish culture, and Southern Jewish culture.

This deli lunch day helps illustrate the Jewish community's relationship with the town, the changing demographics of Greenville's Jewish population, and many Jews' first love: deli food.
