As an ex-neuroscientist turned true crime podcaster, Ben is curious about the real science and stats about crime. Crimes are often sensationalized and crime podcasts are sometimes only loosely researched and fact-checked. But if we examine crime carefully, we can uncover pressing issues in our society and ways we might address them.

From our curator's podcast comes the story of Thomas Hargrove, a data journalist. After coming across an FBI database with information about every homicide in the US, Hargrove decided to try to create an algorithm that would detect patterns within the data and identify serial killers that had gone undetected by the police. 

Science VsSerial Killers: Science of the LambsOur curator calls this podcast, "One of the most entertaining and carefully researched science podcasts out there." Science Vs has covered a number of topics that might fall outside the traditional purview of a science show, including serial killers, police shootings, and more.
