Magical Stories
In partnership with B2B Bite, a newsletter that breaks down marketing strategies for B2B leaders
Theme: Magical Stories
Five podcast episodes on a theme, each week curated by a different person
Curator:
Steve French, host of Unsolved Mysteries
Why did you choose this theme?
Stories share the human experience, and that is how we often find common ground. I love telling and listening to stories and find that what makes them so magical is the different ways they allow us to hold space for ourselves and one another. The way we share our own experiences and the experiences of others is an incredible form of vulnerability, validation, and connection. It’s one of the most important things we do.

Unsolved MysteriesThe Haunting of Ball Cemetery
Unsolved Mysteries is an American mystery docu-series that's been on air for over thirty years. It has that classic '80s nostalgia vibe that's very popular today. The creators of the show decided to produce a podcast so people can listen to unsolved true crime wherever they are. The mysteries cover everything from terrifying abductions to bizarre paranormal encounters. Our curator, Steven French, hosts this show and writes, "in this episode, terrifying recollections of the Ball Cemetery haunt you as it has haunted those who trespass beyond the graveyard's gates."
Higher Learning With Van Lathan and Rachel LindsayThe Importance of the Nationwide Protests Over George Floyd’s Death
Hosts Van Lathan and Rachel Lindsay vividly recall their experiences protesting George Floyd's death over the summer, and the importance of this cultural reckoning. Our curator writes that "at one point in this episode, Van Lathan gives one of the most eloquent speeches I've ever heard on racism and its cancer-like effect on society. I've never forgotten it." This episode transports us back to last May, when the world seemed like it was hanging by a thread. Although triggering, it's also humbling to come back to those feelings of anger and drive.
Add to Cart with Kulap Vilaysack and SuChin Pak Five Pounds of Gummy Bears and Other Budget BuysHere you have two Asian female comedians talking about how what we buy says a lot about who we are. It's a podcast with a subversive take on consumerism and is truly original in concept and execution. In this episode, both hosts explain how growing up in an immigrant and refugee family (respectively) still impact the way they think about buying new things, throwing away food, and accepting free samples. Plus, they respond to listener DMs and reveal their go-to budget samples.
S. Town Chapter I
Someone once introduced themselves to us P.S.— post S. Town— in regards to when they started listening to podcasts. This seems to be the case with many people we come across in the podcast world— it's just that good. S. Town takes a hilariously and brutally honest approach to uncovering the meaning of one's life in the form of a Southern man's confusing life. Our curator Steve, writes, "well it’s a little hard to describe what S-Town is about, but it's basically a story about how life is beautiful, ugly, horrible and uplifting all at the same time, all the time. The last moments of the show had me in tears."
Sustaining Creativity PodcastBrittany JefferySustaining Creativity is an interview-style podcast where different perspectives on creativity, tips, tools, and creative experiences are shared, explored, and digested.
