• SXM Media has discovered where and when people listen to podcasts with others. 12% of podcast listeners often listen with someone else. The company has calculated that podcast advertising gets 5% more impressions from those co-listeners.

• Podcaster Alex Jones has been told to pay $964.2m in damages after repeatedly telling harmful lies. Alex Jones’s show Infowars was removed from Apple, Spotify, YouTube, and Facebook in 2018 for promoting violence and hate speech, though is still available via RSS.

• Does podcasting have an ad frequency problem? In Sounds Profitable with Podsights this week, Bryan Barletta works with Podscribe to discover how big the problem really is.

• Popular podcast platform Ausha ('Oh Sha’) has launched in the US. The hosting platform, used by more than 7,000 podcasts in France, includes a social media manager, one-click sharing to YouTube, and monetization options.
