Hopepunk is a word that means a lot of things, but to me, hopepunk shows are about making the best of the worst. These shows are stories about the end a world, with characters that persevere despite it. They're bittersweet, hopeful, dystopian, inspiring, and heartfelt, all wrapped up into one.
