Why did you choose this theme?
I have chosen this category as less than a third of the most successful podcasts worldwide are hosted by women, and we have stuff we want to talk about!A lot of what we learn about health and well-being is primarily through a male lens (shocking right!?) This has resulted in a lack of education about female health, and in some cases, incorrect diagnoses. Did you know that many women are incorrectly diagnosed with depression, when in fact it was menopause? Or that there are many cases of mis-diagnoses of ADHD, as symptoms in females manifest differently than the better-known symptoms often displayed in males? Or that, thanks to female hormones, alcohol does, in fact, react differently in women than men? I certainly didn't until I discovered podcasts that gave me the information and tools to navigate life as a female, with all the beautiful and painful parts that come with it.

In this new podcast, ADHD lifestyle and well-being coach and Emotional Freedom Techniques practitioner Kate Moryoussef has conversations with global experts, thought leaders, and authors about how we can harness our well-being to enhance our lives as women with ADHD. EarBuds curator Becky picked this episode because it is an incredibly insightful episode for women who have ADHD. It covers different stages of the female cycle, how to advocate for yourself if you have ADHD, how hormones can affect ADHD, and much more.

🎤This week in Podcast The Newsletter: K-Pop Dreaming technically traces the origins of K-pop from its origins to its global popularity today, but more specifically it’s about the host, Vivian Yoon, who finally is able to fangirl over a kind of music she been secretly loving for years. This is a lesson in K-Pop history with a coming of age story that will make us think about the own joys we harbored when we were younger, and the freedom to embrace those things as grown ass adults.

FOGO: Fear of Going Outside
is a nature show — by the most reluctant host ever. Most nature shows are hosted by reckless white men, but avid indoorswoman Ivy Le is an Asian mom with severe allergies. Last season, Ivy conquered camping. She’s back, braving the outdoors, to go hunting — or die trying!
