Why did you choose this theme?
After producing my short film, My Mom and The Girl, based on my mom with Alzheimer's, then launching my podcast, "Love Conquers Alz," I know how massively large the caregiving community is, how quickly it is growing, and, moreover, how vital it is to have access to a variety of support. These are five of my favorite podcasts that cater to caregivers of Alzheimer's, dementia, and other progressive diseases.

Love Conquers AlzLeeza Gibbons on Caring for the CaregiverEmmy Award winner Leeza Gibbons is a self-proclaimed FCTA (former caregiver turned advocate) who has taken her experiences hosting, producing, and reporting for shows such as "Entertainment Tonight," "My Generation," and her own talk show, "LEEZA," to become an instrumental advocate for healthcare, wellness, and caregiving. She details important concepts all caregivers should be aware such as "compassion fatigue," "radical resistance," "the worried well," and how to "take your oxygen first," amongst many other profound insights.
Fading MemoriesEngaging Activities for Every StageOur loved ones need the stimulation of activities, which are also essential tools for caregivers. Suitable, engaging activities will offer enjoyment, challenges, a way to pass the time constructively, and help keep them happy. If you find the right activity, you may discover a way to give them a sense of purpose.

AlzAuthors: Untangling Alzheimer's & DementiaUntangling Life as a Millennial Caregiver with Lauren Dykovitz
Lauren Dykovitz knew nothing about Alzheimer’s when her mother was diagnosed at the age of 62. Just 25, with a new career and recently engaged, Lauren took a crash course in caregiving that changed her life, and eventually led her to candidly share her story on Facebook. This soon grew into the blog, "Life, Love, and Alzheimer’s," which grew into the book, Learning to Weather the Storm: A Story of Life, Love, and Alzheimer’s. Her goal was not only to share her story and the lessons she’s learned, but to let others know they are not alone.
