Why did you choose this theme?

In honor of Black History Month, I want to celebrate Black creators making history every day! These five podcasts represent five very different topical areas but are all markedly representative of the Black experience.

Reality with The King

The host of this podcast, Carlos King, is the Andy Cohen of Black reality television. He's the former executive producer of

The Real Housewives of Atlanta

and

New Jersey,

 and helped these franchises become household names.

Carlos goes behind the scenes of reality TV shows' most iconic moments, and in this episode, he ranks the top five reality shows of 2022. 

Ratchet and Respectable with Demetria L. LucasAdwoa in AccraDemetria L. Lucas is a former journalist who now curates travel experiences to Ghana and welcomes Black Americans "home after being away 500 years." In this episode, she revisits what it was like to return home. 

Oooh, Those "Effin' C-Words!"Changed Ever After: Life After Divorce or Separation

Known as “The Change Coach," EarBuds curator Marceia helps people navigate change — and the grief and sense of loss that often comes with it — with confidence. 

In this episode, Marceia brings us four relatable examples to look to, to get past the isolation that can come with divorce and separation.
